I’ve already presented two recipes for the road right here, and today I’ve got something sweet for you. It’s always good to take something to eat along, especially when you’re on the road with kids. When you’re on a trip, the little ones can get really hungry really quickly. In order to avoid having to take a break every 30 minutes, I always take some snacks along when we’re on the road. Preferably, something healthy like fruits or vegetables. But if the trip takes a little longer, every now and then it’s okay for them to have something sweet. If I have enough time, I like to make butter croissants filled with jam and blueberries. If you don’t have that much time, these chocolate almond scones are perfect.
Während die Scones im Backofen sind, kann man sich problemlos fertig machen, die Tasche(n) packen und gemütlich in den Tag starten. Man muss lediglich aufpassen, dass die fertigen Scones nicht schon vorher aufgefuttert werden, bevor es los geht 😉

Zutaten (8 Stück)
1/2 Pck. Backpulver
1 Prise Salz
30g Zucker
1 Pck. Vanillezucker
60g Butter (hier: 30g Butter und 30g Halbfettmargarine)
40g Schokoladenstreusel
150 – 170ml Milch
2.5 tsp baking powder
1 pinch of salt
30g sugar
5 tsp vanilla sugar
60g butter (I used : 30g butter and 30g low fat margarine)
40g chocolate sprinkles
150 – 170ml milk
Directions
Preheat the oven to 200°C (upper and lower heat). Strain the flour and baking powder through a sieve and into a large bowl. Add salt, sugar, vanilla sugar and butter. Use your hands to knead until crumbly. Finally, add chocolate sprinkles, almonds and milk and stir with a cooking spoon. Don’t be surprised, the dough is quite sticky. Put the dough in the middle of a baking tray covered with baking paper and use a spoon to form a flat circle. The thickness of the dough should be 1-1.5 cm. Now, cut it into 8 pieces and bake on medium rack for 15-17 minutes until the scones are golden. After that you might cut the pieces once more along the sides and let them cool.
Das Gebäck schmeckt natürlich auch zu Hause – frisch aus dem Ofen – sehr gut. Sei es zum Frühstück oder nachmittags zu einer Tasse Tee.
